My Story
In 2019, I graduated college thinking I wanted to work in finance. I joined a private equity fundraising firm, where I started on deal teams, learning how to talk to clients, build models, and make polished presentations.
Two years later, I moved into distribution, finance speak for sales, and finally got my own book of business. At 25, I raised more than $100 million in just two years. It was fast-paced, high-pressure, and exciting, but deep down I knew I wanted something more.
I liked sales, I liked my firm, but I didn’t own any of it. No matter how much responsibility I had, at the end of the day I was still an employee.
Why Franchising
I had seen private equity firms crush it in home services like HVAC and roofing, and I started looking at that world more closely. That’s when I came across Rolling Suds, a 30+ year old family business that had grown into a franchise.
Here’s why I chose it:
- They had already made the mistakes I would otherwise make on my own.
- The franchisor matured quickly and built a strong support system.
- The franchisee network felt like a built-in mastermind, collaborative rather than competitive.
- The industry is still fragmented, with huge opportunity for someone to scale.
I wanted to build my own business, but as a first-time owner, I also wanted a proven playbook. Rolling Suds gave me both.
Where I Am Now
In November of 2024, I signed my franchise agreement. A couple months in, I launched. Now I’m sharing the journey, posting daily wins and losses, and figuring it out as I go.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers. What I do have is the drive to make this work and the willingness to share the real story behind the grind.
